Pro Optimal Whey Question
I have the Pro-Optimal Whey and LOVE it! It is the best tasting and in my
humble opinion the best available on the market. I would like to share my smoothies made with the whey powder with my children who are 10yrs and 14yrs old. I am not sure if the amounts of the vitamins, minerals etc are over what is allowed for children of their age. Are there ingredients in the whey protein powder not ok for children? I could compare the different web sites going by the RDA, but I also know that we all need more than what is on there- but how much more is safe? I was thinking just to share my smoothie with them and not give them their other multi vit but don't want them to miss out on maybe something they should be getting in their multi that they wouldn't get in the protein drink? Please someone help me sort this out! Thank You

I'm very glad to hear you are enjoying the Pro-Optimal Whey Protein powder. It's a quality product designed to give extra nutritional support. However, the product is not a multivitamin/mineral. For example, it does not contain Vit A, Vit D, calcium, or copper, to name a few. So I would NOT recommend that you use this as a multivitamin/mineral for kids. In looking at the ingredients and amounts, there was nothing that stood out as a concern for kids the age you described, but I'd suggest that you ask your children's pediatrician as I do not have available to me the amounts of vitamins/minerals that may be in their multivitamin that you mentioned or the specifics of their health.
